The Bill Cap Rain Shield

After a couple of new health issues this past year, we've kicked up our exercise routine a notch. Well, okay, we've restarted an exercise routine that somehow in this year of Covid had pretty much gotten lost.

Quick back story: We moved to our new small town just before Covid locked us all down - and because we had no opportunities to get to know our new town on the INSIDE - we were forced (referencing said health issues) to get to know our new town on the OUTSIDE. Via daily walks. Which has turned out to be a very good thing!

We've found wonderful trails, lovely old neighborhoods, and a charming waterfront with an ever-changing boating landscape. We've loved getting to know our new town this way! Just the other day, when our friend Kimberly found a cool house to rent, we had occasion to drive by it ... and discovered another lovely neighborhood to explore! This one even has hills, which we all know are good for the heart, if not for the hip joints.

So here we are, walking along, and I (thinking it looked like it might rain) had put on a bill cap. John, on the other hand, hates hats. Except his bike and ski helmets. But that's another story altogether.

So, as I mentioned above, here we are, walking along.

John: The raindrops on my glasses make it hard to see.

Me: That's why I wore my bill cap. It keeps my glasses under cover. They're spotless.

John: You're not wearing your glasses.

Me: That explains it.

John: Explains what, exactly?

Me: Why that sleeping dog over there is actually a small log.

John: Sigh. Then Laugh. Then we both laughed. Pretty hard actually.

He says that I make his life way more interesting, and I know he laughs at me sometimes. Okay, quite often. But that's okay, because the world has been a far better place in this year of Covid because we ARE still laughing.

Now - if my glasses aren't on my face, and they're not up on top of my head ... where the hell are they? I'm pretty sure they're not in the closet with my bill cap. Or. Wait. They could be.
